The family of Marla A. Vos of Morrison, IL, is saddened to announce her passing on Friday, August 29, 2025, at the age of 60.  Marla passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family.  She bravely fought a brief battle with an aggressive brain cancer, known as glioblastoma multiforme.

Marla was born on June 23, 1965, to Arlyn and Mary (Buikema) Vos.  She was educated in the Morrison grade schools and graduated from Morrison High School in 1983.  She went onto the College of Beauty in Clinton, IA, and received her degree in Cosmetology.  Later, she moved to Georgia and worked for many years for Continental Airlines, until she moved back to Morrison.  After returning, she was employed doing factory work, and was currently employed at Climco Coils in Morrison.  Marla had an outgoing personality and enjoyed spending time with her family.  More than anything she loved spending time with her nieces and nephews.  She was a country girl; she loved Country music and attended many Country music concerts.

Marla was survived by her mother, Mary (Buikema) Vos of Morrison; siblings, Kathy Stull, Dale (Polly) Vos, and Debra Vos, all of Morrison; uncle and aunt, Larry and Linda Vos of Prophetstown, IL; aunt, Laurie Goldsmith of Lowestoft, England.  Surviving nieces and nephews include Justin (Emily) Vos, Joshua (Becky) Vos, Lauren Vos, Kate Vos, Ashley (Josh) Ryckman, and Amanda (Chris) Cashman.  Great-nieces and -nephews include Silas Hicks, Myla Ryckman, Nikko Ryckman, Paisley Cashman, Brooks Vos, McCoy Vos, and Hadley Vos.

She was preceded in death by her father; maternal grandparents, Henry and Carrie Buikema; paternal grandparents, Ernest and Gladys Vos.

A Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home.

Her Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Wednesday, September 3,2025, also at the funeral home, with Pastor Sun-Ah of Morrison United Methodist Church officiating.

Interment will be in the Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison, IL.

Memorials have been established to Rock River Hospice, Sterling, IL, and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
