Sheriff’s Office Investigating Stolen 1400-Pound Steer

On Thursday, August 28, 2025, Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office reports investigation of the theft of a 1400-pound, black steer, from a farm in rural Whiteside County, located between Morrison, and Fulton, IL.  The theft is believed to have occurred within the last couple of days.

Deputies responded to the report and are actively pursuing leads, including canvassing the area and reviewing any available surveillance footage.

Sheriff John F. Booker stated, “The theft of livestock is not only a serious financial loss to our farmers, but it is a crime that impacts the backbone of our rural community.  We are committed to pursuing every lead to recover this steer and hold those responsible accountable.”
