Two final performances of “Marjorie Prime” take place Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, August 24, at 3:00 p.m.  The Richmond Hill Players will perform at Richmond Hill Barn Theatre, 600 H. K. Robinson Drive, Geneseo, IL, 61254.  The Box Office opens one hour before show time.  There is No Late Seating.

In the not-too-distant future, 85-year-old Marjorie, experiencing memory decline, lives with her adult daughter, Tess, and son-in-law, Jon.  A service called Senior Serenity provides artificially-intelligent, holographic representations of deceased loved ones.  This allows Marjorie to hold face-to-face conversations with a much younger version of her late husband, Walter.

What would you say to someone you lost, if you could see them again?  Pulitzer Prize finalist Jordan Harrison reinvents the family drama in his richly spare, wryly funny, and powerful “Marjorie Prime.”  A heart-achingly, beautiful rumination on aging and artificial intelligence, memory and mortality, love and legacy, this drama examines the blurred line between a life lived and a life remembered.

Suggested for PG-14, there are mature themes involving dementia, grief, and self-harm.

The cast features a family of four, with Illinois actors Lorrie Lord (Geneseo); Jalayne Riewerts (Morrison); Eric Friedman (East Moline); Kevin Babbit (Davenport, IA.)  Jennifer Kingry (Geneseo) directs the show.  Riewerts is shown below, visually interacting with her late husband, Walter.
