Arnold Dick Quimby, age 90, of Rock Falls, IL, died Saturday, June 14, 2025, at his home.
Arnold was born December 29, 1934, in Rock Falls, the son of James and Laura (Gardner) Quimby. He married Mary Kay McCray on November 8, 1952. She preceded him in death on April 5, 2002. He was employed at Northwestern Steel and Wire as a Millwright for many years. Arnold enjoyed dirt track racing, NASCAR, WWE Wrestling, and gambling.
He is survived by his children, Deborah (Charles) Hall of Rock Falls, Julie (Robert Parmely) Marschang of Kentucky, Tammy (James) Harrell of Indiana, Dick (Carol) Quimby of Morrison, IL, Misty Casey of Prophetstown, IL, and Buffi (Randy) Langley; special friend, Mary Crebo of Rock Falls; 24 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Kay Quimby; parents; daughters, Lori Wadelton and Candy Stracke; brother, James “Sonny” Quimby; sons-in-law, Robert Stees and Pat Marschang.
A Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., at the McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls, IL.
A Celebration of Life will be held at K’s Korners, 13030 Galt Road, Sterling, IL, immediately following the Visitation.
A memorial has been established.
