The May 19, 2025, session of the Morrison School Board opened with the swearing in of a new Board Member. Jennifer Patton read the oath of office and was seated among the full membership in attendance.
Current Board Members include Erin Luckey, Dustin Damhoff, Matt Ewoldsen, Scott Folkers, Dan Engelkens, Jennifer Vander Molen, and Jennifer Patton.
School Principals reported activities at the respective buildings. They featured a variety of positive activities and successes involving students, as the school year quickly comes to a close.
The approval of the Consent Agenda included the approval of the monthly bills and the resignation of Northside Paraprofessional Peyton Smith.
Actions taken in Other Business:
- Kayleen Church was hired as the Northside 1st Grade Teacher for 2025-26.
- Anna Hauter resigned as the Junior High Math Teacher effective at the end of the 2024-25 school year.
- Chelsea Eades resigned as Elementary PE teacher effective at the end of the 2024-25 school year.
- Renewal of the Illinois Elementary School Association (IESA) membership for the 2025-26 school year.
- Approval of a new Student Activity Account for the Business School Merchandising Company at MHS.
- “The intro to Business and Technology class at the High School has created a school merchandise company as part of their class. The activity account will be used to purchase supplies and inventory for their sale.”
- Approved the student registration, extracurricular, and lunch fees.
- Approved the 2025-26 School Board Meeting dates with two changes:
- January 19 rescheduled to January 26.
- February 15 rescheduled to February 23.
The Morrison School District #6 Board of Education meets on the third Monday of each month, in the Administrative Meeting Room in the Whiteside County Farm Bureau building, located at 100 E. Knox Street, in Morrison, IL. Meetings are open to the public.
