Russell J. Dykstra, 64, of Fulton, IL, died Thursday, May 15, 2025, at his home.

Russell was born July 9, 1960, in Morrison, IL, to John E. and Doris R. (Vanderploeg) Dykstra. He attended Fulton Christian Grade School and graduated from Fulton High School with the Class of 1978. On June 17, 1978, he married Julie A. Adams in Fulton, IL. Russ was first employed at International Paper in Clinton, IA, and most recently worked for Holesinger Farms. He was a member of Bethel Christian Reformed Church, where he served as a Deacon and Sound Technician. Russ had an appreciation for the outdoors and was an avid hunter. He found joy in woodworking and in the unique craft of tanning deer hides–hobbies that reflected his love of nature.
Survivors include his wife, Julie; daughter, Deanna (Jake) VanZuiden of Camanche, IA; sons, Jeff (Charity Glaspie) Dykstra of Clinton and Kendall (Amanda) Dykstra of Fulton; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Sharon Rickertsen of Low Moor, IA; brothers, Len (Shirley) Dykstra of Fulton, Dave (Laurie) Dykstra of Morrison, IL, and Warren (Karen) Dykstra of Camanche.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, William Lankford.
A time of Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., on Friday, May 23, 2025, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home.
His Funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m., at the Funeral Home, with Rev. Jake Ritzema, retired Pastor, officiating.
Cremation rites will be accorded following the services.
A memorial has been established.
