Richard Arthur Strobbe, 76, of Morrison, IL, passed away peacefully at his home, on Thursday, May 1, 2025, hearing the purr of his 1966 Corvette humming in the driveway.

He was born in Clinton, IA, on April 28, 1949, to Maurice and Mary (Fontenoy) Strobbe. He attended Prairie Center Grade School and graduated from Morrison High School in 1969. He worked at General Electric in Morrison and then began a trucking career which included Stralow Trucking in Morrison, and Northwestern Steel & Wire in Sterling, IL. Richard also drove as an Owner-Operator with numerous trucking companies from his home in Morrison.
He married Jeanne Lancaster at First Baptist Church in Morrison, on December 30, 1976. Together they had sons, Jason (Christy) and Scott (Angie) Strobbe; six grandchildren, Nevaeh, Keegan, Aaden, Kynleigh, Jake, and Jackson. His brother-in-law, Doug (Kaarina) Lancaster; sister-in-law, Jan Strobbe; several nieces and nephews also survive him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Raymond, sister, Martha; nephew Travis.
A Graveside service is planned for Friday, May 9, 2025, at 3:30 p.m., at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison, IL, with Pastor Roy Brown IL, of First Baptist Church in Morrison, IL, officiating.
Memorials may be made to Happy Tails Animal Shelter, in Rock Falls, IL.
