At Morrison’s Heritage Museum, 202 E. Lincolnway, Morrison, IL, on Sunday afternoon, October 20, 2024, 25 members of Morrison Historical Society and the general public waited in anticipation for the Arnie “The Farmer” Beswick program to start. Chad Starbuck had prepared his display of a Beswick biography; boxed model cars, photos, and posters; an 18-minute DVD; an extensive PowerPoint presentation; his talk. He was to begin promptly at 1:30 p.m.
Three of Arnie’s and Evelyn’s four daughters were seated, left-to-right: Arnette Beswick, Paula Wiersema, and Michelle Beswick. However, the Guest of Honor had not arrived. Michelle phoned her father and reported he was not feeling well.
Starbuck saved the day with a detailed history of Beswick’s decades of innovation and racing.
There will be an opportunity to meet Arnie Beswick on Saturday, November 9, at 1:30. The venue is Ebenezer Reformed Church, 309 E. Park Street. Parking is behind the church on E. South Street, where the best entrance is located: automatic sliding doors and an elevator to the Sanctuary. View his race cars–a Pontiac Tameless Tiger and a Pontiac GTO “Judge,” the Ultimate Muscle Car.
