Gordon F. Millerschone, 81 of Morrison, IL, died Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at his home.

He was born on December 29, 1942, in Morrison, the son of Fred J. and Caroline (Planthaber) Millerschone.  He married Linda A. Tomlinson on January 18, 1964, in Morrison.  Gordon had worked in the 1960s as Assistant Chief of Police in Morrison for four years.  Later he worked at Northwestern Steel & Wire for 31 years, retiring as a Welder.  He then went to work for the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Department as a Deputy, for 20 years.  After retirement, he enjoyed visiting his “girls” at the Courthouse and with his special friend, Sheriff John Booker.

Gordon was a member of Morrison Fire Department for many years; Ducks Unlimited; Whitetails Unlimited.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching all of his grandkids play sports.  He hardly ever missed a game.  He was also a Coach for Women’s and Girls’ Softball for many years.

Survivors include his wife, Linda; daughters, Kris Millerschone of Jacksonville, FL, and Connie (Jeff) Decker of Morrison; son, Matthew Millerschone of Morrison; sister, Evelyn Stingley of Morrison; brother, Edward (Carolyn) Wohrley of Morrison; five grandchildren, Gunner and Garrett Decker, Dylan, Hunter, and Grayson Millerschone; one great-grandchild, Grace Decker; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Paige Caroline Decker, and brother, Floyd “Newt” Wohrley.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 20, 2024, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the McDonald Funeral Home, 1002 12th Avenue, in Rock Falls, IL.

Graveside services will be on Monday, October 21, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., at Grove Hill Cemetery, Morrison, IL.

In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established in his memory.
