American Red Cross volunteers and Morrison Fire Department partners will install free smoke alarms–with ten-year batteries–in Morrison, IL, on Saturday, March 25, 2023. The ARC campaign has helped save 45 lives in the Illinois region and over 1500 lives across the Country.
Volunteers will gather at the Fire Department, 206 W. Main Street, at 8:45 a.m. in preparation. The first pairs (one Red Cross volunteer and one firefighter) will begin at 10:00 to access homes. Work will continue into the afternoon.
This effort is part of the National Red Cross Sound the Alarm initiative.
Volunteers will discuss home fire safety with families and fire hazards. Safe, fast, exit routes from the house will be illustrated for residents.
