Mayor Scott Vandermyde said he recently fulfilled a personal goal to sail to Southampton, England, aboard the Queen Mary 2. His original sail date was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He mentioned a pair of Bridge players onboard, who were “pretty intense” about the game. When asked what he did when he disembarked, the Mayor said he went to an airport and flew home! Vandermyde explained he had visited London before; a relaxed, luxury sailing experience was his travel goal. He also told the group that his 59th birthday was the next day, October 21.
