The Morrison Historical Society program for Sunday, June 22, 2014, will pay tribute to the late Margaret (Margy) Haines and the late Anne Petersen.  The Board of Trustees invites the general public to remember these women at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 22, 2014.  Morrison’s Heritage Museum is at 202 E. Lincolnway, Morrison, IL.  Light refreshments will be served after the program.

chair-caseInside you will find three attractive improvements, each purchased with part of a bequest from Haines’s estate.

  • Over 40 comfortable navy chairs now are available to those who visit.
  • Two large, but lightweight, tables have replaced old, heavy ones.
  • An impressive, 30″ x 6′ cherry display case showcases memorial items from Haines and Petersen.

Morrison master craftsman Mark Pruis  designed and built the piece.  Mirrors on the bottom reflect halogen light from the top and pieces of interest.  Three glass shelves create easy viewing all round.  Pruis will discuss this woodworking feat at the museum about 1:30.

Soon, the inheritance money will fund audio-visual equipment for future presentations.  In addition, Morrison Historical Society Trustees will be able to “take the show on the road” to speak at organization meetings, schools, or elder care facilities.

Suze Orman expressed this quotation that befits both Margy Haines and Anne Petersen, “A wise woman…knows the meaning of true generosity; happiness is the reward for a life lived in harmony, with courage and grace.”
