Claudia Garcia, of Dixon, IL, will be the featured speaker at Morrison’s Heritage Museum, 202 E. Lincolnway, Morrison, IL, on Sunday afternoon, August 21, 2022. Hosted by Morrison Historical Society Board of Trustees, Garcia will describe her essential position as Director of 9-1-1 services in Whiteside County and her future role as confectioner.

Current or former Dispatchers, Emergency Services personnel, members of Law Enforcement, and the general public are invited to this informative program.

Doors open at 1:00 p.m., and the program begins promptly at 1:30. Morrison’s Heritage Museum is accessible to all with parking behind the building. There is no admission fee. Refreshments will be served, including mini-cupcakes baked by the presenter.

This Morrison Historical Society 9-1-1 program is prelude to an upcoming event on Sunday, September 11, hosted by Ebenezer Reformed Church, 309 E. Park Street, Morrison. Honoring Our First Responders is an outdoor worship service in the parking lot. It will begin at 10:30 a.m.

Everyone is welcome to attend this tribute to Firefighters, Police Officers, Sheriff’s Deputies, and Emergency Medical Services personnel. Bring a lawn chair, or sit in your car–tune your vehicle radio to 98.3 FM.

Beginning at 11:30, there is free food and a fun fest. Enjoy a cookout picnic, bouncy house for kids, cake walk, and more.
