carol wingettCarol Ann Wingett, 78, of Fulton, IL, died Friday, June 13, 2014, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, IA.

Carol was born June 20, 1935, in Fulton, IL, to Harry and Kate (Stuit) Hoogheem. She was educated in the Fulton Grade Schools and was a 1954 graduate of Fulton High School. She married Larry Fredricks in 1958, in Morrison, IL. She later married Gerald B. “Jerry” Wingett on July 1, 1972, in Rockton, IL. He died July 4, 2009. Carol worked at the Woolworth Store in Clinton, IA, right after high school. She was then employed by Wahl Clipper in Sterling, IL. She retired in 1993 after 29 years of employment from General Electric Company in Morrison, IL. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Clinton. She was a member of the GEM Club and a member of three different camping groups. Carol enjoyed traveling and camping.

Survivors include one daughter, Terri Fredricks of LeRoy, IL; one son, Barry Fredricks of Fulton; one stepdaughter, Jennetta Williams of Solon, IA; two stepsons, Leonard “Butch” Wingett of Des Moines, IA, and Matt Wingett of Cedar Rapids, IA; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Vivian (Art) VanZuiden of Camanche, IA, and Joyce (Leon) Ottens of Morrison.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jerry; one stepson, Michael Wingett; one brother, Arnie Hoogheem.

FUNERAL SERVICE:  10:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home

OFFICIATING:  Rev. Ronald D. Lott, Pastor of First Baptist Church, Clinton, IA

VISITATION:  4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home

INTERMENT:  Fulton Township Cemetery, Fulton, IL
