The “Let’s Feed Our Children” free summer lunch program will begin on Tuesday, June 3, for all Sterling, and Morrison, IL, kids and continue through Thursday, August 14, 2014. Serving will be from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
This is the 13th year the United Way of Whiteside County has organized this free lunch program, with the help of many of our local churches and organizations and the Sauk Valley Foodbank.
Lunches will be served each Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in Morrison, at the Crave Building, on the southwest corner of W. Market and Base Streets.
The program starts in Sterling at Broadway Methodist Church, Macedonia Church, and St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Mobile sites in Sterling include SterLynn Apartments, Douglas Park, Steelton, and the Wallace School playground area.
In Fulton, IL, serving will begin on Thursday, June 5, at First Reformed Church, and follow every Tuesday and Thursday.
- This FREE sack lunch is for anyone who needs a lunch during the 11 weeks of summer vacation.
- Lunches include a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, 100% juice drink, fresh fruit and other lunch items.
- No questions will be asked, and no names need be given in order to receive a FREE lunch.
