In honor of St. Patrick’s Day, Wednesday, March 17, 2021, several food and beverage choices will be offered in Morrison, IL, from east-to-west and north-to-south.  Choose corned beef and cabbage meals, reuben sandwiches, salads, desserts, and beverages with a nod to the Irish.  Below are 13 underlined options, several of which are available currently or more often than March 17.  Call to place carry-out orders.

The Cafe at Morrison Community Hospital is not open to the public at this time.

Da’ Bar, 109 E. Main Street, 815-772-4415:  green beer only on Wednesday, March 17.

Embraced, 104 W. Main Street, 815-680-6038:  All orders are pick-up and best preordered; 10% of all proceeds will be donated to support the future Bark Park.  Corned Beef Salad and Sliders (with sauerkraut and 1000 Island dressing; braised Red Cabbage with Apples and Sweet Coleslaw; Leprechaun Freeze (shake) and Sour Apple Lotus Plant Smoothie.  Various baked items; order cookies and cupcakes (by the dozen), Shamrock Frosted Cookies $1; Cupcakes (chocolate/white mix or all one kind) $10; Blarney Stone Cake Pops $14.

The Episcopal Church of St. Anne will not host a community St. Patrick’s Day Dinner this year.

Family Chef Restaurant, 701 W. Lincolnway, 815-772-4785:  Wednesday, March 17, and Thursday, March 18, corned beef and cabbage meal with dessert, soup, and salad; reuben sandwich with fries and choice of soup or salad served every day until 3:00 p.m. closing.

Fat Boy’s, 201 E. Main Street, 815-772-3978:  only on Wednesday, March 17, corned beef, potatoes, carrots, and cabbage meal, serving from 11:00 a.m. until sell out (no reservations taken); reuben sandwich; green draft beer

First Presbyterian Church served 195 St. Patrick’s Day, drive-through meals on Thursday, March 11.

Happy Joe’s, 109 W. Main Street, 815-772-7840:  any-size reuben pizza, reuben flatbread, and reuben sandwich with chips or potato salad (all served every day); Mint-Chocolate Chip ice cream.  The Brick Block Pub will serve a “Fuzzy Leprechaun” mixed drink; Guinness beer in cans; anything reuben:  pizza, pasta, or sandwich.  All Happy Joe’s or BBP food can be ordered to go.

Hero’s Bar & Grill, 208 E. Main Street, 815-772-8770:  reuben sandwich baskets with French fries or potato tots;  Wednesday, March 17, through Friday, March 19, full dinner of corned beef, cabbage, potatoes, carrots, and dinner roll; Wednesday, March 17, Irish Drink specials all day.
