60s70sSingers from the community will be asked to share their talents in a massed choir, on Sunday afternoon, September 15, 2019.  They will present “A Tapestry of American Music:  Songs that Unite Us.”

Drawing from our Nation’s rich musical culture, the massed choir will perform selections both sacred and secular, from grassroot folk songs, to African American spirituals and rousing, heartfelt, patriotic music.

Men of the choir will sing a compilation of popular music from the ’60s and ’70s entitled “For Men Only.”  Songs include “My Girl” and “You’ve Lost that Lovin’ Feeling.”

Women will answer with “For Women Only,” featuring “My Guy” and “Breakin’ Up is Hard to Do.”

There will be four rehearsals, beginning Wednesday, August 21, at 7:00 p.m., at Morrison United Methodist Church, 200 W. Lincolnway, Morrison, IL.  These rehearsals were carefully planned before regular church choirs begin their rehearsals.

Singers, mark your calendars and join the fun!  We hope to see you August 21.
