White Oaks Therapeutic Equestrian Center (WHOA) will host its sixth Annual Benefit Horse Show, on Saturday, September 14, 2019, at the Gold Star FS Arena in the Whiteside County Fairgrounds, 201 W. Winfield Street, Morrison, IL. All proceeds will benefit the WHOA program.
WHOA uses equine-assisted activities to provide recreational, educational, therapeutic, and social opportunities for people with physical and cognitive disabilities. The not-for-profit organization serves individuals ages four through adult.
The Student Exhibition Class begins at 8:00 a.m. A patriotic Opening Ceremony by WHOA students and volunteers is at 8:45. The Horse Show starts at 9:00.
There will be 28 classes, including Pleasure Classes and Speed Events throughout the day.
While the horse show is going on, WHOA will host a grilled cookout lunch from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., in the Livestock Pavilion/seating area. Pork chops, burgers, hot dogs, and baked goods will be available for sale, as well as chips, lemonade, pop, and water.
This cookout is open to all members of the community, so WHOA invites you to please stop by for lunch!
Saturday, September 14, will be a great opportunity to support this local program with its mission of empowerment. Have a day of local fun and great food with family, friends, and our students.
