On Monday, March 18, 2019, Marc Adami, show left, Mark and Jean Zinnen, and Theresa Brandon will present a program., detailing a unique ezperience they shared last fall. It will describe their experiences while walking the 70 mile, “English Way” of the Camino de Santiago in northern Spain.
Sponsored by the Odell Public Library Friends, the presentation will be held in the Program Room at Odell Public Library, 307 S. Madison, Street, Morrison, IL, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
In September 2018, Adami, the Zinnens, and Brandon left Morrison for a flight to Santiago, Spain. After taking a bus to Ferrol, Spain, the four friends, known as Peregrinos, or Pilgrims, began their journey on foot, to Santiago de Compestella with John Lionet, their guide.
This pilgrimage of the Camino de Santiago or “They Way of St James” has been traveled by millions of people for over one thousand years, to the alleged burial spot of the Apostle St. James. For many, this ancient journey is made for religious purposes. It continues to draw spiritual seekers, health/fitness advocates, and adventure travelers.
The presentation of slides and video will be followed by a question and answer period. Learn more about the Pilgrimage and the motivations that draw so many to such a difficult and fulfilling task.
