Are you interested in learning how to Select, Hang, and Arrange Art in your Home or Office? Ned J. Nesti, Jr., former Morrison Junior High Art Instructor and Curator at the Loft, will demonstrate and discuss these three topics on ?, January ?, 2019, at The Loft on Main beginning at 7:00 p.m. The cost is $5 for non-members, at the door, and free for members.
Nesti states, “The art you select reflects your personality and gives a space a personality. The best thing about art is that it’s an investment. You can spend as little or as much as you like.”
“Buying art does not come naturally. You may be worried about choosing the right size or the right color. However, choosing art for the home is much more intuitive if you follow some simple rules,” says Nesti. “Start with your personal taste, always.”
Utilizing items in The Loft on Main, Nesti will demonstrate how to hang art like a pro in any space. Where the piece of art will be hung and how will it relate to the room is a big consideration. “There is always a relationship between the art work, its color, shape, theme, style, the frame, and the rest of your room,” he says.
Nesti was the Art Instructor at Morrison Junior High for 38 years. During those years, he was also a consultant for Scholastic Magazine’s, “Art and Man” publication. Morrison Junior and Senior High students participated in his Scholastic Workshops for 32 years. Photos of their work were used in the magazine. Nesti also worked for the National Gallery of Art Extension Service for 12 years.
For an interesting and unique evening, join Ned Nesti, Jr. at The Loft on Main, at 112 E. Main Street, in Morrison, IL, for a lively conversation and demonstration all about art.
