Alfred Hitchcock’s masterpiece, “Dial M for Murder,” starring the beautiful Grace Kelly will be shown at Odell Public Library, 307 S. Madison Street, Morrison, IL, on Tuesday, November 13, 2018, beginning at 2:00 p.m.  Rounding out the cast are Ray Milland, Robert Cummings, and John Williams in this 1954 crime thriller.

Tony Wendice, played by Ray Milland, plots to have his wife Margot (Grace Kelly) murdered, so he can collect on her life insurance.  Although Tony is a former tennis pro, his tour earnings are dwindling.  He has also discovered that Margot is having an affair with a famous crime writer, who is visiting them from the United States.  In order to give himself an alibi, Tony will be out with his American friend, while an old schoolmate whom he has blackmailed will do the crime.  Luckily for Margot, the scheme goes awry, and Tony fights to stay ahead of the Police Inspector, played by Robert Cummings.

Ray Milland is a classic Hitchcock villain:  handsome, sly, and evil.  Grace Kelly, who was acting in her first Hitchcock film, is lovely, hurt, confused, but most brave as she struggles with both the murderer and the truth.

There is no better way to spend a gloomy November afternoon, than with a chilling Alfred Hitchcock film at Odell Library.  There is no admission, but all donations are most appreciated.
