GalaTicketCome help us Build the Big Picture!  Celebrate art, area artists, and our new local gallery, The Loft on Main on Main, on Saturday, October 20, 2018, at the Auditorium of Morrison Institute of Technology, from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m.  Tickets are still available at Fitzgerald Pharmacy and The Loft on Main on Main:  singles are $25, and couples are $40.

This gala night is a fundraiser for The Loft on Main and its projects, including a scholarship for an art or music class each semester.  The arts have always had a prominent place in the Morrison schools and community.  The impact of the arts is both long reaching and long lasting.

“The visual arts in the Morrison schools gave me more gifts than a person should receive in a lifetime:  Discovery, Confidence, Connections, Respect, and Appreciation.  [They left] an impact that I feel to this day,” stated Michelle Londo Holmquist

The Auditorium will be transformed with seasonal decorations into an art gallery atmosphere and filled with the music of The Connection.  Local celebrity waiters will serve tantalizing appetizers and desserts.  The Brick Block Pub will provide a cash bar, serving wine, craft beers, and a unique drink of the evening.  Many of our artists and community art enthusiasts will join in the fun.

We invite you to this celebration of the arts as we Build the Big Picture and unveil a commissioned original work of art created by a guest artist that will be auctioned off at the end of the festivities. The evening will also include a Silent Auction and a Live Auction of donated pieces from The Loft on Main’s artists. Also included in the fundraising activities will be a numbered envelope on each table. The number on the envelope correlates with a puzzle piece on the secret commissioned painting. Guests at each table will be encouraged to donate. As the envelopes are filled, they will be picked up and a puzzle piece revealed. The table with the largest donation will have the honor of removing the largest puzzle piece covering the painting and receive a bottle of champagne.

“I teach in a preschool art studio.  For those who can’t express themselves easily with words, art is a language they already speak,” explained Andrea Beveroth Wesa.
