Hearts Of FaithGrowing up in a Christian home, church was always a part of Donna and Brenda’s lives. Even though female duets are not typical for Southern Gospel, these sisters have proven themselves to be available to be used of God. Audiences everywhere are captivated by their dedication and, of course, the family harmony.

Meet Donna Strong and Brenda Messaros in concert on Sunday, June 24, 2018, at Spring Valley Reformed Church, 10960 Spring Valley Road, Fulton, IL.

Donna always sang around the home. One Sunday morning, she told the Sunday School Superintendent that she wanted to sing; one morning, she got up and sang “Born to Serve the Lord” without any hesitation or fear. From that moment on, Donna often sang solos at church. Many are amazed at her low vocal range. She is able to sing the higher bass notes.

Brenda also began singing in church as a youngster, with her sister and two other girls. Although she didn’t begin singing full solos until she was in her twenties, she was often featured on verses in choir numbers. Brenda well remembers she and Donna using pencils as microphones, turning out their bedroom light and using a flashlight as a spotlight during their performances. If pencils weren’t available, hairbrushes worked well.

Today, Brenda provides that high soprano sound that Donna would never be able to sing. Together, their harmony is vastly enjoyed by listening audiences everywhere.
