67th Junior High Promotional Exercises

By 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, the High School Auditorium, 643 Genesee Avenue, Morrison, IL, was joyfully filled with family, Administrators, staff, an honored speaker, friends, and students.  Accompanied by the regal “Pomp and Circumstance March No. 1” the 64 eighth graders filed into rows of red chairs on the stage.

Superintendent Dr. Matthew DeBaene and Principal Joe Robbins welcomed attendees and offered introductory remarks.

Korey Zigler, Adjutant Service Officer, Morrison American Legion Post #328, presented an American Legion Award to Eliana McDearmon and Easton Swanson.

Principal Robbins presented 23 students with the President’s Award for Educational Excellence.

Illinois Principal’s Awards were given to Reece Engaldo and Chance Williams.

Travis McBride, a member of the MJHS Class of 2006, gave the Main Address.  Retiring History Teacher Mark Ernst officially presented the class for promotion, and High School Principal Dr. Dusti Markham accepted them as the Morrison High School Class of 2030.

McBride and Dr. DeBaene presented each student with their certificate.  Isaac is shown at the moment he became a Morrison High School student.
