Maggie Carreno stated, “5 Star Landscape Design is located in Morrison, and most of Javi’s clients are in town, Fulton, IL, or Clinton, IA. He also works in Sterling, Dixon, Prophetstown, and Savanna, IL, pretty much anything within a 45-minute radius of Morrison. He does complete landscape services including retaining walls, patios, sidewalks, cleanups, spraying, automatic irrigation systems, snow plowing, and digital video design.
“Javi worked at Silver Ridge Golf Course in Oregon, IL, for 20 years. He owned a joint landscaping business with his brother for ten years. He owned Javi’s Restautant in Oregon for two years and sold it in 2007. He moved to Morrison and worked as the greens keeper, part owner, and Restaurant Manager of Prairie Ridge Golf Course for eight years. He has been the greens keeper at Fulton Country Club for [the past] four years. Javi started his 5 Star Landscape Design business in 2016. He attended Kishwaukee College for Landscape Architecture and Design.
“During the winter months Javi is off from doing physical work. However, he keeps busy going to seminars in the Chicago, IL, area to learn more about new landscape products, plants, and machinery. He also spends time working on digital designs for his clients; plowing snow; spending time with family; going away for vacation.
“Javi is happy and grateful to God that he has a business and is able to give employment to people. He has an amazing, hard working crew: Bryan Carreno, José Roman Gomez, Jorge Luis Ruiz, Breeann Sharp, Jacob VanZuiden, and Jason Lopez.”
